"End line" machines for quality control

CheckBox is a products series created (developed) by VEA to perform quality controls in a simple and (more) flexible way. Checkbox is customized for the customer production and can perform surface analysis, color analysis, burrs presence, dimensional measurements, cracks detection, blowholes or lumps and all that can use for checking production. Dimensional control of holes in molded parts

Determine the presence and sizes of a series of holes in a molded plastic piece. All pieces produced are analyzed with centesimal precision. Each 42 hole in the piece is measured the width, length and area. The piece is a puncher plastic waffle maker. The measurement system has been certified and calibrated according to the method of Certified Vision System.

Measurements control on screws and small iron custom items.
Among the many measures, like height and diameter, there are thread integrity and thread step. The main features in this systems are precision near 0.01mm and elaboration speed from 3,000 up to 20,000 pieces per hour.

This activity deals with an integrity control on microcables, detectors and hybrid circuits, and requires micrometric precision. The system must automatically analyse every track and must recognise short-circuits or track interruption: this can be done with our HQV-TRACE module, a special software deported to make inspections on hybrid circuits.

Measurements on driveshafts for electric engines. Objects can be of different size and with different signs for assembly, and they are producted in a non-stop cycle.

Calibration driven by vision system

Here the system calibrates a magnetothermic switch by controlling a screwdriver that makes adjustments on a metallic blade. The screwdriver is remote controlled by the vision system in real-time (25 frames per second) and stop it when the correct position has been reached.

Screws control assembly and measurement

Check if the mounting screws of gas valves are properly tightened. The main difficulty of this application is due by the lack of repetitive reference points from which to deduce the measurement, from the tolerance of large size and shape of the screws and the position of the screws that are often within the components. Also checks the presence of markings and was asked to store an identifying code defects linked to the valve for complete traceability.

Surface control and equal distance of crests on pulley

Control diameter of crests.
Control distance between crests.
Verify that crests are not damaged.
The sistem acquire images from two cameras: the first make a surface control and the distance between crests; the second control diameters.
To make the surface control of crests is necessary to ha ve an high speed because the pulley is in rotation, the system elaborates 50 images at second. A particular functionality called "Split Fields" divides the image in two parts and then make analysis on each ones.
Thanks to internal logics of module FLAW ANALISYS the system is insensitive to the inevitable variations of color and opacity due to the galvanization.

Automatic machine for needles control

To make a qualitative and dimensional control with centesimal precision of needles. This needles are mounted on rings. The system control more then 20000 points/h with an autonomy of operation of 12 h.
The system control if all neddles are mounted on the ring, if it was mounted a different type of neddle, if the dimension of neddle are correct, if it is damaged on point, if it have lacks or if it is crooked.
To make this control it was realized a plant on measure where each ring is storage in pull bar. The system control each ring and then put it in its bar corresponding at type of discard or in a bar of production. Each ring is rotated under optic groups of cameras that control point per point in real time (50 frames per second). It was be made a lot of attention to the compactness of plant and at the simplicity of use and of maintenance.

Quality control of scart connectors

The problem of the producer of these SCART connectors is that to check the alignment of the pins in three dimensions.
VEA has realized a series of applications dedicated for the dimensional control for each type of object, thanks to MEASURE module it is possible to take notice of different type of measures.
A simple and intuitive configuration , the reliability, the insensibility> to the environment and the sturdiness are characteristic of these systems.
The system is composed by two right-angled cameras that measure the distances among pin, if the distances don't reenter in limits of tolerance the connector is rejected.
