PRESA DI PACCHETTI TRASPARENTI

 

 

Problema:

L'impianto deve rilevare la corretta posizione di pacchetti trasparenti per la presa in un sistema di imballaggio automatico.

Si deve riconoscere il centro del gruppo di pezzi anche se il sacchetto e trasparente.

 

 

 

 

Solution:

With VEDO system control all incoming packets through a conveyor with different position, searching for correct position to pick that package, then it commands robot to pick it and load into a box.

A special algorithm groups automatically the pieces, indicating the position and the rotation of the group of pieces.

Moreover the algorithm can find the center and the rotation of different kinds of packets without sampled images stored inside the system. For an easy picking and place operation.

On the left images there are white pieces in transparent pack, the green arrow in the images indicates the center and rotation of packet.

 

Precision and reliability/feasibility:

The measure of the packet position and the distance between packages requires precision and reliability, characteristic that cannot satisfied if there is no suitable position of packets.

The algorithm makes sure that the center of the packet is always in the center of the group of objects.

 

In this case pieces mixed colored package, group of pieces with color mixed light and dark in a bag with printed lettering and designs.

The arrow indicates the center clamp and the angle of the packet. Overall performance of algorithm is very good.

 

 

Illumination performed by backlight puting under the conveyor belt which is white color thus to guarantee the best performance of the algorithm for a long time.

 

Split function for areas:

Test pieces without bag, one of the tests to optimize the clustering algorithm of the pieces. It's possible with a simple adjustment to make sure that the bag with the words is taken into account by the algorithm.

Moreover, this algorithm set up threshold level for maximum and minimum range of object dimension to detect accurate packet in the surface.Otherwise reject for failed inspection.

 

Reliability of the vision system

A reliable vision system must be repetitive and compatible in the case of object or packet tracking even if variation of packet's position in the surface area.Really its depend on the packet's position in which it's inserted via conveyor belt.

In this case Brightness variations, variation of the object position, displacement of object, Lighting position and other can influence the results of a vision system especially if packet is not in the perfect area or region.
